moments to remember

Here on the Palouse we had a very long winter and are still having a lot of rain. Because of this the soccer fields at Mountain View park have been soggy bogs. The games were delayed a week, cancelled, and then we finally had one game. The games were cancelled on the day of the first games. But since Meghan was so excited about playing for the first time and wore her soccer gear the entire day, we still went out to the fields down the street from us to kick the soccer ball around with the kids. It was wet and cold, we set up cones for goals, and it was so fun.

After so much rain we finally had a nice warm weekend. Monday was especially hot and Meghan asked if we could get the sprinkler out. It was perfect. And Isaac was hilarious and was very curious. He'd walk up to the spray of water and then he'd turn suddenly and shake his head a walk away. And he'd do this again and again. He loved watching the kids run and scream through the water!

And with the sun came the soccer game. It was a little crazy having three kids playing on the same night, but it worked out. Meghan's first game was during the same time as Dylan's and she loved it. She was running around the field laughing, chasing the little pack of kids kicking the ball around and watched her shadow as she ran down the field.

Dylan taking the ball down the field. He has grown so much since he started playing!

This last Saturday we decided to have a "bike day".  Dylan, Lola, and Meghan have grown out of their "first" bikes and over the past month we found bigger bikes for Dylan and Lola from garage sales and friends. I am so very grateful to those who pass along items that they've no need for anymore. It has blessed our little family so much over the years. So after adjusting seat levels, new handle bar grips, and putting air in tires, and a few kids hopping up and down with anticipation the kids were off! Meghan moved up to Lola's old bike and Allen found Dylan's old training wheels and put them on her bike. We love having the church parking lot right behind our house. It's a great and safe place for the kids to have some room to ride! And with Isaac on his little 3-wheeler it was a fun to watch them all with smiles and looks of concentration on their faces as they adjusted to the feel of their new bikes. Their were a couple of falls, but they got right back up and kept on going!

Lola waiting "patiently" (HA!) for her daddy to put on her new handle grips.
