our lola: fourth birthdays are so fun!

Lola, you are such a big girl with a fun, happy, passionate personality. We love you!

Some days are sure better than others and yesterday was one of those days. It was our Lola's fourth birthday! It started with heart-shaped waffles, then shopping with just mommy. Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlain were here and Grandma made yummy red-velvet cupcakes and a fancy butterfly cake. Next was decorating the house with a birthday banner, balloons, and Christmas lights. And we spent some time getting Lola all "fancy" and then it was time for the party! This year was Lola's first "friends over" birthday party and there were 7 little fancy girls dancing, creating, pretending, laughing, and getting their nails painted. It was great fancy fun. Dylan and Grandpa played on their computers-keeping the boys together and Meghan fell asleep on the couch watching the Hephalump movie since the party was right in the middle of her nap time! Daddy came home after the party with a heart-shaped pizza for dinner. It's a tradition to let the birthday person pick what to have for dinner and Lola picked a heart-shaped pizza, broccoli and oranges. The only problem with that was Papa Murphey's only has their heart-shaped pizza for Valentine's Day, but Daddy came to the rescue and shaped it into a heart before he put it in the oven! Lola never knew the difference. The day ended with a little family birthday party with presents from Grandma and Grandpa, Dylan and Meghan and a birthday song serenade over the phone from her cousins, E and K. It was such a great day and Lola loved every minute of it. I can't believe she's 4!

It's amazing that it's been 4 years already since you came to us!
Cute little thing.

In the sisters pictures of your girls I can totally see you in Lola's face. Your kids are adorable! I'm glad you ran into my blog-fun to see what you're up to! It's crazy how fast these kids grow up, isn't it?!
