Look Mom! No training wheels!

Yesterday was a great day. After a busy morning with a Primary Activity, and a busy afternoon with Saturday cleaning, we were outside finishing up some projects before dinnertime and it finally came time to take the training wheels off of Dylan's bike. He has been asking for weeks now, and I guess Allen and I were a bit hesitant to do it. But after a few starting and stopping pointers from his Dad they went out to the church parking lot behind our house and off he went! Dylan just starting going and kept going and didn't fall! He did so great! He came back around to us and had a bit of a shakey stop, but he did it! He let out a big breath and smiled. The whole time while he was riding he was pretty serious and quiet. After a few runs Allen got his bike out did some following the leader with him, so he could practice turns and riding slower. It was so neat to watch him just go! And he loved every minute of it! Later that night Dylan was laying on the couch, all ready for bed, and we were talking about how well he had done and he asked if he could "ride again on Monday, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday." It was so cute. He was so proud of himself. "Of course!" I told him. "If you keep practicing you'll get better and better and you'll have even more fun!" He just smiled. It was a great day.
